This is the full 2021 Clad Proof 7-Coin Set from the San Francisco Mint.  These coins are designated Advanced Releases making them some few coins to garner that designation from the US Mint.  The set includes the Sacagawea Native dollar, the Kennedy half dollar, the last America the Beautiful quarter – Tuskegee, Washington crossing the Delaware River quarter, the Roosevelt dime, the Jefferson nickel and the Lincoln cent.

Advanced Releases is the only official designation made by the US Mint.  Advanced Releases coins are coins sold to the 18 largest coin buyers from the US Mint but represent only a fraction of the coins sold by the US Mint.  To be eligible for the Advanced Releases designation NGC must have the coins before the official release date from the US Mint.  The US Mint normally provides Advanced Releases coins to the largest dealers two days before the official release, meaning they must be immediately submitted to the grading companies to receive this extremely limited and desirable designation.

Proof coins are coins that the US Mint makes differently than standard circulating coins used for change.  Proof coins are manufactured by striking the coin numerous times under increased pressure to make the field (flat portion of the coin) have a mirrored finish.  Proof coins are specifically made for collectors since they have better eye appeal than standard circulating coins. Grading companies usually annotate proof coins with either PR or PF before the number grade.  Additionally, exceptional coins will be given Ultra Cameo or DCAM (deep cameo) designation for coins where the difference between the surface of the coin’s devices and the mirrored finish of the coin’s field are very pronounced.
